Thank You:The CWPAA would like to thank Northern Data Systems for holding a workshop on radio telemetry (for pump stations). It was very informative. If anyone would like more information on the system, the Stratford WPCF has it in place. Dave Carfo can tell you all about the system: (203) 385-4065 |

For Your Information...The CWPAA is looking into different areas of training for the new year. The association is working with N.E. Utilities to set up electrical training, especially in the area of preventive maintenance, and the Conn. Fire Academy (Windsor Locks) to set up safety training. The CWPAA is now on the Internet! Larry Chertoff of the Water Industry Council has invited us to become a part of the Water Industry Council Website. This is a great opportunity for the association and we thank Larry very much for his generosity. Come take a look. Areas which will be on the association web site:
We're still in the infancy stage and we want your input on what you would like to see on the site. For more information or suggestions, please contact Jan at (860) 693-7867. Web site: http://WaterIndustry.org/CWPAA.htm Also, while you're at the site, browse through the Water Industry Council site! Thanks again, Larry! -- Jan * The Torrington WPCF is working on an unusual project with the DEP. DEP is stocking an empty aeration tank at the Winsted plant with 500 rainbow trout. Check out the article -- this is quite a fish story! Good going -- Rich * Select Energy (Northeast Utilities subsidiary) is looking to form a committee (a representative sampling of plants) to sit down with them to determine what services plants are looking for that NU can help to provide, such as:
...or any other services that they might be able to provide that can help reduce our
total energy costs. We're looking to keep it small, 7-8 people. If you're interested in
sitting on this committee, please contact Arnie Bevins at (860) 871-0859.
