June 22 The CWPAA will be sponsoring an odor management seminar in CT this May. The date has not been set.Tentative location is to be at the Rocky Hill Marriott on Rte. 3 or the East Hartford Holiday Inn.
Times:
8am- 8:30 am registration with coffee and danish, 8:30am – 12:30 pm presentation, 12:30pm – 1:30 pm

light luncheon buffet, additional questions at 1:30pm.

Topics will include: odor definitions, measurement, testing, modeling, public perception, odor control technologies (short-term and long-term), legal issues. NO CHARGE FOR THE SEMINAR.

The CWPAA operator exchange program will be with Vermont for the year 2000. The date for this has not been set -- it is usually 3 days -- expenses are handled by the CWPAA and NEWEA.

WASTEWATER OPERATOR I—The Town of Cheshire is seeking applicants for the position of Wastewater Operator I to be assigned to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.  Semi-skilled work in the operation and maintenance of equipment and performance of physical labor in the operation of the wastewater treatment plant and sanitary sewer system.  Graduation from high school or equivalent and possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class 2 driver’s license.  Due to a change in State law, anyone hired for this position must obtain a Class I certificate or higher within 24 months of employment.  Failure to obtain this certification may result in ineligibility to perform Operator I duties.  Starting hourly rate of $17.69/hour.  Excellent medical benefit package.  Applications and full job description available from the Personnel Director, Cheshire Town Hall, Town Manager’s Office, 84 South Main Street, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.   Close of application period is December 22, 2000.  The Town of Cheshire is an EEOE, M/F/D/V.
