The CWPAA Product Show will be held on April 13, 2000 at the Sheraton Waterbury Hotel. There will be a "FREE" buffet lunch for all that attend. There will also be raffles for $$$ and items donated by vendors. Please come and join us.

The CWPAA will be sponsoring an odor management seminar in CT this May. The date has not been set.Tentative location is to be at the Rocky Hill Marriott on Rte. 3 or the East Hartford Holiday Inn.

Times:
8am- 8:30 am registration with coffee and danish, 8:30am – 12:30pm

presentation, 12:30pm – 1:30 pm

light luncheon buffet, additional questions at 1:30pm.

Topics will include: odor definitions, measurement, testing, modeling, public perception, odor control technologies (short-term and long-term), legal issues. NO CHARGE FOR THE SEMINAR.

May 00 The Town of Plainville will be holding SCBA training around the end of May. The CT State Fire Academy will be doing the training. It will be held at the Plainville WPCF over 2 days. The cost is $1000/day/20 people.

The CWPAA operator exchange program will be with Vermont for the year 2000. The date for this has not been set -- it is usually 3 days -- expenses are handled by the CWPAA and NEWEA.

DEP CORNER

The Department of environmental Protection is seeking certified operators to fill vacancies on the Certification Advisory Committee. Currently there are two vacancies. Furthermore, two additional vacancies will occur in November 2000.

In order to be considered for this committee, operators must be a Connecticut certified operator and be able to attend a monthly meeting on a regular basis. Operators other than Class IV operators are encouraged to consider this committee.

Interested operators should submit a letter of interest to Bill Hogan before April 30, 2000. The letter should indicate your interest, qualifications you would bring to the committee and a commitment to attend the monthly meetings. Letters should be address to:
