Town of Greenwich seeks a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
State of Connecticut Class III Certification required. Salary: $41,909 beginning 7/1/99,
35 hours per week, shift differential, 401(k) contribution by Town. Benefits include full

Town of Canton: The town of Canton operates a 0.8 MGD Class IV wastewater
treatment facility discharging into the Farmington River. The plant is staffed five (5)
days per week during the day shift. In addition, one operator is assigned on a rotating
basis to perform certain duties on weekends and holidays. Biological treatment is
performed by Trickling Filters, RBC's, anaerobic digestion of sludge, and UV disinfection.
There are three pump stations.
The Town is seeking a professional individual with demonstrated leadership wualities to
fill one of the two vacancies at the facility. Class III or IV operator certification and
appropriate collection experience is required. The successful candidate will have at least
six (6) years of work experience in the operation of wastewater treatment facilities;
demonstrated supervisory skills and management ability; skill and training in electrical,
plumbing and machine maintenance; and working familiarity with Microsoft Office 95 and
software programs available to assist in wastewater operational data analysis.
As either plant superintendent or chief plant operator, you will operate and maintain
appropriate documentation for plant operation and personnel matters; analyze, evaluate and
recommend facility and operating improvements. An excellent salary and fringe benefit

OMI is seeking candidates for the following positions:
- Wastewater Plant Operator III: Must be certified Connecticut Class III.
- Wastewater Plant Operators: Must have prior experience in operations of wastewater
plants.
- Collection System Operator: Must be certified Connecticut Class III or have a Commercial
Drivers License (CDL).
- Mechanic: Will be responsible for repair and maintenance of pumps, control system,
motors, blowers and chain driven equipment.
- Laboratory Technician: Must possess experience in wastewater compliance testing.
