| Wolseley of UK buys Clayton materials for $110M in cash LONDON, April 18 (Reuters) - Britain's Wolseley Plc, the world's biggest distributor of plumbing and heating equipment, said on Thursday it had bought U.S. supplier of waterworks materials Clayton Acquisition for $110 million in cash. Wolseley said the deal would complement its Ferguson business in the United States, which focuses on supplying plumbing and heating equipment to utilities. Florida-based Clayton is the fourth-largest wholesale distributor of waterworks, wastewater and storm-drainage materials in the United States, with sales of $226 million in the year ended August 31, 2001. |
