Acciona of Spain buys RWE's Pridesa
water treatment unit for 150 million Euros

MADRID (AFX) - Acciona SA said it has acquired
RWE AG Thames Water's water treatment unit Pridesa in Spain for 150
million euros.
In a statement, the Spanish company said the deal
strengthens its position in the desalination sector, placing it in a good
position for internationally strategic water markets such as in the US,
the UK, Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Egypt and China.
The operation is subject to anti-trust approval.
In 2005, Pridesa posted sales of 169 million
euros on EBITDA of 14 million euros.
